FAQ

We're sure you have some questions.

Framing doesn't have to be complicated, and we make the process easy. Here are some commonly asked questions that our customers have. If your concerns aren't here, feel free to drop us an e-mail or give us a call.

How long does it take to frame something?

We love getting your pieces back to you as quickly as possible. Typically our turn around time is about two weeks from the pickup of the art. Depending on the work load at the time, that time frame can go up or down. We make sure to keep the lines of communication open, and update you along the way.

How much will it cost?

Framing artwork and photography has many variables. The cost of the piece will depend on things such as frame, mat, and glass choice. We’re happy to work with you and explain the different options in order to make the piece looks its best.

I don't know what will look good. Can you help me?

At Artisan Gallery Framers, our main goal is to make your artwork and the space it will hang in look its best. The purpose of the traveling shop is to come to the space where the piece will end up, in order to imagine the end result. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, or don’t have a natural eye for design, our experience and knowledge can point you in the right direction.

Why choose Artisan Gallery Framers over a traditional framer?

We realize walking into a store front framer is the traditional way to do things, but we also saw some issues people were having using them; 1) You sometimes can't remember exactly what stain of wood your dresser is in order to match one of the millions of samples on the walls at a frame shop. 2) You have to transport your own art or photography, risking damaging your pieces or the finished frames in

the process. 3) You have to remember to pick it up!

AGF figured out that by coming to you we can eliminate all of these issues. We bring samples to you, so we can hold them up directly on the walls and in the rooms where they'll hang. We handle transport of all your art and photography (fully insured) so you don't risk any problems in the process, and we drop the pieces back off when they're beautiful and finished.

Where are you located?

Our studio, where we do all our framing, is located in Bergen County, NJ, but our traveling frame shop method makes it simple because we come to you! We can set up a consultation and pick up wherever's convenient. Usually we meet in the space where the final piece will hang.

We also offer shipping across the U.S.

What is Conservation Framing and why would I want it?

One of our specialities is conservation framing. This method preserves the life and quality of the piece for as long as possible. Conservation framing minimizes the potential problems caused by environmental factors, by using materials and techniques that protect each piece and alters them as little as possible. Using conservation framing methods will extend the life of your art and photography, and offer a long term storage solution that will not harm or damage the piece.
